Close your books and leave all of your stress behind! Today you will begin one of our trips around Mediterranean Europe with Unitrips. We will begin our trip in Madrid, the capital of Spain. We offer you an extra day from Madrid in which you have two options: join at night to head to Barcelona in our bus, or join in the afternoon, where we offer you a visit through the center of the city of Madrid. Charge your batteries, because a great trip with the Unitrippers awaits you. Are you ready? We will begin our visit of this incredible Spanish capital in the afternoon. During this visit we will see all of the main sites of the city such as Retiro Park, Alcala Gates, Cibeles, Sol and the Plaza Mayor, etc…
Following a busy day enjoying this city we will have some free time to eat dinner and in the evening we will hop on our bus and head towards Barcelona.
Good morning! We are in Barcelona!
We will have a fun filled day exploring this Catalunan capital. From admiring the Sagrada Familia, Paseo de Gracia, the Gothic Quarter we will head to las Ramblas to endulge ourselves with a bit of shopping. You will also have some free time to stroll around and explore the hidden parts of this city. This evening we will go and party like locals in one of the trendiest clubs in Barcelona.
After having a full day to explore Barcelona, we will then continue our trip of the Mediterranean. This time we will head to France! Today there will also be more people starting the tour, joining us in Barcelona. Once we have crossed the French border we will travel down the Blue Coast, enjoying the incredbile views from our UniBus. At midday we will stop to eat and have a rest before continuing our journey to Nice. The latter is one of the most famous cities in France, situated in between the Mediterranean and the mountains, it is a unique sight.
After a long jounrey we will arrive at our next destination just in time for sunset, which we will be able to admire from the bus before we disembark and check in at our accommodation for the night.
After we have checked in and dropped our stuff off in our respective rooms we will have free time to eat dinner, have a drink and take in the beautiful sites on offer in this famous french city.
Are you ready for a new day and a new place on this tour of the Mediterranean? After breakfast and check-out we will set off on a highly anticipated visit to all of the main monuments and the most important zones of this incredible city. Following this visit we will hop back on our bus , this time in the direction of Monaco.
This small coastal state holds the record population density in the world and seeing that its stadium is built on top of a skyscraper, you can understand why! Here we will pass the mythical Formula 1 racetrack, driving around all of the curves and bends it marks out at full speed (well, as fast as the bus will go!)
After the panoramic tour of Monaco on the bus we will continue on to our next stop on the trip which happens to be in another country: Italy.
Given that we are heading to Italy we will cross the border to Liguria (where we will spend the night), but before this we will stop off to have dinner somewhere en route.
This morning, after breakfast, you will have the chance to choose how you wish to spend your day. Those that want to come with us on the optional excusion to 5 Terre, the incredible italain natural park, will have to check-out in the morning and hop back on the bus.
Cinque Terre is made up of 5 different villages that are the perfect examples of mediterranean architecture, all built into the cliffs located here. All of the houses are different colours, which stand out from the green mountains and blue sea that surround them.
What makes this place so unique is that it has hardly been affected by polution as there are very few cars as the only way to travel to different villages or walkinhg or travelling on a little train.
*Optional Activity: Excursion to Cinque Terre
After finishing this optional activity we will hop back on the bus, collect those who chose not to go on the optional activity and head to Pisa, a city that is home to one of the most famous towers in the world…the leaning tower of Pisa! We will arrive here in the afternoon, just in time to have dinner.
After dinner we will continue our trip around the Mediterranean towards Florence, which we will have a chance to explore tomorrow.
Whilst in Florence you will be able to go and see many different famous piece of art in the Uffizi museum or if you don´t want to walk around a museum you can stroll across the hills where you will be able to see the mythical dome of Brunelleschi, which, as you will see, dominates the city. Later on you will be able to enjoy the university atmosphere in Santa Croce.

Today on our grand tour of the Mediterranean you will be able to visit and admire many different pieces of art in the Uffizi Museum, or if you don´t want to walk around a museum all day make sure you take a walk up to the hills of Florence. From here you will be able to observe the dome of Brunelleschi, a monument that dominates this city.
After admiring this little city that has been built and developed upon more that 3000 years of history, we will continue our tour, this time we will head to another architectual wonder: Venice.
Venice had the honor of being one of the most powerful, rich and populated cities throughout many centuries, dominating the mediterranean and commerical trading routes of the Orient. What´s more the art in this city has captured the hearts of many people from all over the world, the majority of which has a byzantine influence, most clearly exemplifed in the works of Marco Polo.
This morning, after breakfast, we will continue falling in love with this city, that is reality is just a huge, open-air museum. Venice is one of the most instagramable places in the world, and so make sure you have your camera at the ready in preperation to take lots of photos of the bridges, vaporettos and gondolas.
Enjoy the Byzantine influenced art that characterises the Basilica of San Marco, admire the beautiful canal that begins at the bridge of Rialto and most importantly get losts in the quaint little streets that will surprise you every time you turn a corner.
After an intense day visiting Venice, we will hop back on our bus to continue our tour of the mediterranean. This time we will put Tuscany in the GPS, it is here where we will spend the night.
Once we have finished breakfast we will check-out and head towards Rome. Once we have arrived we will go straight to the Vatican where you can choose what to do. You can either have some free time or come with us to the famous Vatican Museums (for those that have paid for Rome Pack).

After having some free time to get some lunch, as a group we will visit the city of Rome.
Rome is, without a doubt, one of the cities in Europe that occupies the most ime from the tourists that visit. Considering the vast number of places to see and things to do here this is no surprise. Having said that we need to make the most out of the short amount of time we have here,with our tour guides taking us to the best places.
After our intense, fun filled visit to the city of Rome, we will head to our accommodation for the night where we will check in and have some free time to relax.
Today we have got a action packed day ahead of us, enjoying and admiring the capital of Italy.
Rome is known as the “Eternal City” and when you get here you will understand why. Here time seems to have stopped centuries ago due to the multitude of monumets and rests of builidngs that still remain i tact from this period in history. Therefore walking through the streets of this captial will take you back in time to the golden age, when this city was in its prime.
For those of you that have paid for the Rome Pack, you will be able to visit the Coliseum and the Roman Forums whilst the rest of you will have some free time to explore this city a little more.
The capital of Italy, the old “caput mundi” and all of it´s history await us. There are so many reasons as to why you should visit Rome, tow of which are the food and the lively atmosphere, both of which are enough to keep you coming back! Before you goto sleep make sure you stroll through Rome, trying famous italain food and of course getting yourself an icecream!
After an intense day we will hop back on our bus and head to Civitavecchia to catch our ferry to Barcelona.
Before we end our incredible tour of the Mediterranean we will have the chance to enjoy a trip on a cruise. The journey from Rome to Barcelona will be spent in an elegant boat that has everything you could every want or need on board: a club, a games rooms, restaurants, 24 hourcafes, a pool, a gym, a helath centre, a casino…So get yourself a gin and tonic, sit back, relax and enjoy the mediterranean breeze!
We will arrive at the Port of Barcelona in the evening where we will say goodbye to those leaving us here. Those who have paid for the trip back to Madrid will stay on the bus.
We will arrive in Madrid in the early hours of the morning so that we don´t loose the whole day travelling! We will say goodbye with tears in our eyes to all of our new friends and this incredible trip! We hope that you have had an amazing Easter travelling with us around the Mediterranean!
